Your game page stops answering, the spinner hangs and every tap does nothing. Knowing when to restart phone and when to force one saves you from jabbing at a dead screen. The steps below come from Apple’s and Google’s own help pages and apply to any page you play in a phone browser; the wider setup is in how your phone browser shapes play.
Restart phone first when only the browser tab hangs
If the rest of the phone still answers, close the browser before you touch the power controls. Google’s Chrome help for iPhone says to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App switcher, find Chrome, then swipe up on its preview to close it. For Android, Google’s Chrome help says to manually close and re-open Chrome.
One game tab hangs while the rest of the phone still takes touches
Close the browser, reopen it and load the page again by its address. If it hangs a second time, move to the restart steps below.
Restart phone normally on iPhone when everything lags
Apple’s page “Turn iPhone on or off” says that if your iPhone isn’t working as expected, you can restart it by turning it off, then back on. Which way depends on the phone.

Turn it off by one of the methods above. To turn it on, Apple says to press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
Force restart iPhone when the screen will not respond
Apple’s page says: “If iPhone isn’t responding, and you can’t turn it off then back on, try forcing it to restart.” Its procedure runs in this order:
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the side button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
Apple’s page prints this one procedure and no list by model. For an older phone, search your model’s name at support.apple.com.
The slider never appears and the buttons seem dead
Run the four lines above in order, without pausing between the two quick releases.
Force restart on Android when the screen stays on
Google’s Android Help page says: “If your phone is frozen with the screen on, hold down the power button for about 60 seconds to restart.” The page adds that some of its steps work only on Android 8.0 and up, and that on a custom Android version you check with your device manufacturer.
The Android screen is lit but nothing moves
Hold the power button for about 60 seconds. This is the stuck-screen method, so use the normal power menu when the phone still responds.

Google’s page says your phone can start having issues when less than 10% of storage is free. It also sends you to Settings, System, Software update. On iPhone, Apple’s update page puts the same check at Settings, General, Software Update; the software update checks for iPhone and Android are laid out side by side on their own page.

Check free storage first, then check for a pending update, then restart once the update finishes.

- Reopen the browser and type the address of the page you were on.
- Open the game’s history or transaction screen and read whether the round settled.
