RFC 9110 defines 503 as the server being currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overload or scheduled maintenance, which will likely be alleviated after some delay. The server may send a Retry-After header to suggest how long to wait. MDN adds that common causes are a server down for maintenance or overloaded.

504 gateway timeout: a middle server gave up

When a blocker or cookie setting looks like a server error
A code number arrives from the server, so a 503 that survives in Incognito mode is not your browser’s doing. What to do while a 503 lasts
- Stop pressing the same button; a 503 asks for time.
- Wait for the Retry-After time if the page prints one.
- Try again, and check whether other sites open.
- Before you repeat a bet or a payment, open the game’s own history or transaction screen to see what the last action did.
- Keep your deposit limit where it was; an error page is not a reason to change it.
